Hi everybody!

Like to share the latest news from the upcoming Hobbyboss Merkava Mk 3 D Kit.
Release date Juni / July 2012.

Features: - Optional all-steel wheels, rubber-rimmed road wheels
- Mk 3 D "early" configuration (like the MENG kit)
- sadly no LIC features included ;-(
- optional chain and balls armor with "real" chain&bolts (like included in the HB Mk4 kit) OR plastic chain&balls version
- 2 PE frets
- correct lower hull
- decals for 3 versions

So lets see how the kit compares to the MENG kit...i guess i will buy both kits (as my own Mk 3 D w. LIC Legend kit has been stolen lately!!! aaahhhhh)

Greets

Chris

Isn`t always the way, you wait for ages for a plastic Merkava 3D kit., and 2 turn up at the same time. A bit like buses

Kind of off topic, but do we know if Hobby Boss will correct the hull for their Merkava IV in the near future? For example, the LIC version of the Academy Merkava 4 comes with non-slip and a few other minor tweaks, which I think has pushed it slightly ahead of the Hobbyboss version.

I really like the Mk3 over the Mk4. Don't know how the plastic chain/ball will look like but I think it might look like the Academy Mk3's metal chain/ball except in plastic.

No easy way around this but for Meng's Mk3 to command that kinda price, I think it should come with all the chains assembled in factory so we don't have to worry about working on tiny chains.

Shalom.

I'm so pleased to hear that there will be a Merkava 3 available in 1/35 scale and in Styrene. Price is a major consideration for me because of medical expenses. I'll be waiting to see reviews of both the Hobby Boss and the Meng Merkava 3 before I buy one or the other. After getting the Academy Merkava 3 years ago and seeing how inaccurate it was I'll wait to be sure Hobby Boss doesn't take the same kind of shortcuts with this new 3D kit.

Shalom and cheers from Merkava_Man
